Overview
North Lakes (Post Code 4509)
North Lakes is an exciting and burgeoning locale in the Moreton Bay Region, north of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. According to the 2016 census it has a population of over 21,000 people. However, with the rapid growth the area is seeing, the population is likely to far exceed that figure, now! We’ve seen the growth and so Property Management North Lakes is a big part of our business in 2021! The suburb is located 26 km north of Brisbane CBD. It is also one of the fastest-growing areas in Queensland because of its various amenities and facilities.
The suburb was initially part of Mango Hill but that official status was changed (“degazetted”) in 2006 by the Department of Natural Resources. Further, its name is derived from the estate development agency that carried out the first works on the suburb.
Shopping and Amenities
The suburb is experiencing an increase in the number of shopping centres setting up base there. Only recently, renowned supermarket chain Woolworths set up shop in North lakes. That is not all, Myer, Kmart, Target and other major brands are all targeting this new area. They have all put up outlets for their products, and the residents could not be happier. Additionally, in 2016 a cinema complex opened its doors to the public and has been operational since. There is also a community centre, an industrial estate and a bus interchange.
Recreation Facilities
North Lake has quite the number of recreation facilities where you and your kin can relax and unwind! First, up is the North Lakes Aquatic Centre located at The Corso. It boasts of various activities you can engage in. They have a health and fitness centre, a leisure pool with water features, a 6 lane by 25-metre outdoor swimming pool (heated) among many more facilities. Also, there is the North Lakes Town Park. It is located close to Lake Eden right behind Lochside Drive. It is ideal for a picnic with your family and also an awesome play area for kids. The park can also be used to set up barbecues.
Lastly, there is Lake Eden, which is situated close to North Lakes Westfield Shopping area. This park is suitable for picnics, a small family gathering because of its ambience and a romantic stretch with your special person. It is also a good spot for bird watching.
Schools and Education at North Lakes
