Developed in the 1980s and benefiting from good growth in recent years, Carindale is a newer suburb of Brisbane.  It is located 13 km east of the city centre on Cleveland Road and Bulimba Creek, bounded to the east by the Gateway Motorway. Many of the homes in the area are of the brick and tile style.  Some homes have been updated and modernised by rendering.

There are some modest residences in Carindale as well as “mansions”. Carindale has some of Brisbane’s grandest homes in its dress circle near the Pacific Golf Course, one of Brisbane’s best courses. The most lavish high-end homes cluster around the Pacific Golf Course. They are the sort of homes you can’t help driving past and ogling for their lavishness and ornate exteriors.

The majority of homes, nearly 60%, are occupied by couples with children, with 9% being occupied by single parent families. Many people from surrounding suburbs visit Carindale for its huge Westfield Shopping Centre where you could easily lose yourself for a day at a time.  The large Westfield Carindale Shopping Centre provides a wide and easily accessible range of stores and facilities.  Also, there are smaller shopping centres available to residents in the nearby suburbs of Carina, Belmont and Mt Gravatt East. The neighbouring suburb of Belmont also provides medical services to Carindale residents through its hospital. There are many walkways, bikeways, parks and waterways in Carindale and neighbouring suburbs.

Schools

Schools available to residents include the Carindale Community Kindergarten, Belmont State School, St Martin’s Primary School and Whites Hill State School. For those interested in swimming, there is the Shapland Swim School. Other sports and leisure interest clubs include, naturally, golf, as well as a variety of health and fitness clubs, Authentic Goju Kai Karate, bowls, Surf Dive & Ski and Basketball.

Recreation

Carindale also has plenty of parks and green areas, particularly surrounding Bulimba Creek, which winds its way through the suburb. There are kilometres of bike paths and walking trails as well as off-leash areas for dogs and playgrounds for children. All in all, there’s a wonderful amount of green land and beautiful reserves for locals to enjoy.

Family days out and romantic picnics in the park are a breeze with the continually upgraded and extensive Carindale Recreational Reserve.  The Reserve is ideally located within walking distance or a short drive away from most homes in Carindale. The recreational park is well-frequented and features electronic barbeques as well as a custom themed play area for little ones.
