Coorparoo

The suburb’s name stems from the aboriginal word Kulpurum for Norman Creek and Coorparoo is one of the oldest suburbs in Brisbane. The Coorparoo and Buranda Railway Stations are both useful to residents of Coorparoo, a suburb 4 km from Brisbane’s CBD that is now a fashionable choice in the trend towards inner city living.

The residential parts of Coorparoo are complemented by a small and local semi-industrial and commercial centre. Situated on the south-eastern side of Brisbane, Coorparoo enjoys easy access to Brisbane central along either the Story Bridge or the Southeast Freeway. Many residents enjoy the reduced travelling time to and from work and local amenities and there has been a significant rise in the development of units available for occupation. Many small businesses, banks and retail outlets also serve the surrounding suburbs.
